Keep Welfare, Storage & Operations Running Smoothly

Why Ground Protection For Site Compounds Matters

Compounds are where projects are managed and people spend most of their time on site. Offices, welfare units, storage, fuel tanks and generators all concentrate loads into a small area. On soft or wet ground this can quickly turn into ruts, standing water and trip hazards. Vehicles struggle to manoeuvre, cabins settle unevenly and daily operations slow down.

Composite mat systems create a stable working surface under cabins, storage and access routes so compounds stay usable in all weather. Compared with importing stone for every compound, reusable mats cut truck movements, CO₂ and reinstatement work when the project finishes. GroundGuards Global supports contractors, utilities, energy developers, military and film production teams, rental fleets and distributors who need reliable compound solutions they can repeat from job to job.

Key Benefits For Projects & Fleets

What You Gain From Composite Site Compounds & Bases

Using composite mats for compounds and bases gives bulk buyers, rental fleets and distributors a flexible platform system that can move from site to site. The same systems are proven in demanding hire fleets, and we support partners with training, layout guidance and marketing assets so their teams can specify compounds with confidence.

  • Create level, stable surfaces for offices, welfare cabins and storage
  • Keep compounds clean, safe and free from excessive mud or standing water
  • Protect reinstatement sensitive ground beneath temporary bases
  • Provide clear walkways and work areas to reduce slips, trips and falls
  • Reuse the same mats across multiple projects, sectors and locations

How Our Compound Flooring Systems Work

Composite compound mats interlock to form a continuous surface that spreads loads from cabins, storage and vehicle movements. Panels are designed to provide grip for pedestrians and equipment while protecting the ground below. Layouts can include hard standing for cabins, storage zones, pedestrian walkways, parking areas and access tracks in and out of the compound.

Our systems are independently tested and supported with conservative, application based load guidance so you can match each mat type to expected loads and ground conditions. When a project is complete, mats are lifted, inspected and redeployed to the next compound, giving you a long life asset instead of a one use stone platform.

Weight loading is not always straightforward, so read our weight loading guide before you choose.
