Keep Sites Reachable In All Conditions

Why Temporary Access Roads Matter

Many projects rely on a single entrance or track to move equipment, deliveries and staff on and off site. When that route runs over soft verges, farm tracks or reinstatement sensitive ground, repeated traffic can quickly turn it into ruts and mud. Vehicles struggle to enter, neighbours are affected and safety risks increase.

Composite access road mats create a stable running surface at gateways, haul routes and crossing points, so you can keep sites reachable even in wet seasons. Compared with tipping stone at every entrance, reusable mats cut truck movements, CO₂ and reinstatement works once the job is complete. GroundGuards Global supports contractors, utilities, renewable energy developers, rental fleets and distributors who need dependable access solutions that work on every project.

Key Benefits For Projects & Fleets

What You Gain From Composite Temporary Access Roads

Using composite mats for access roads gives bulk buyers, rental fleets and distributors a flexible asset that can be deployed wherever sites are hardest to reach.

The same systems are proven in demanding hire fleets, and we support our partners with training, layout guidance and sales materials so their teams can advise customers confidently.

  • Keep entrances and approach tracks usable in wet weather
  • Protect verges, footpaths and farm tracks from rutting and damage
  • Maintain safe access for delivery trucks, cranes and service vehicles
  • Reuse the same mats across multiple sites, seasons and sectors
  • Reduce stone import, haulage and clear up at gate locations

Simple To Deploy, Easy To Reuse

How Our Composite Access Roads Work

Temporary access roads are built from interlocking mats that connect to form a continuous, stable running surface. Panels are designed to spread load away from the wheel path, protect the ground below and provide traction where surfaces are soft, uneven or previously reinstated. Roads can be configured as short entrance pads, longer approach tracks or wider bell-mouths at gateways.

Our systems are independently tested and supported with conservative, application based load guidance so you can match each mat type to vehicle loading and ground conditions with confidence. Once access is no longer needed, mats are lifted, inspected and reused on the next site, giving you a long life asset instead of a one use stone solution.

Weight loading is not always straightforward, so read our weight loading guide before you choose.
